Why Do My Prices Differ From Another Platform?
Feed coverage, entitlements, timing, session, and quote selection can make two platforms display different prices.
What problem does this solve?
A quote or trade value differs from a broker or another market screen.
Quick answer
Most comparisons fail because the screens show different feeds, price fields, timestamps, or sessions. IEX and SIP coverage are not identical.
Steps
- Record the symbol and exact time shown on both screens, including time zone.
- Check whether each value is bid, ask, last trade, official close, or chart bar.
- Compare the regular or extended session and the provider feed used by each platform.
- Repeat the comparison with matching fields and timestamps before reporting a mismatch.
What you should see
You can usually identify the source of the difference or produce a precise report for support. A live IEX print does not have to equal a consolidated SIP print.
If it still doesn't work
Send the symbol, feed, field, timestamps, and a cleared screenshot. Remove account identifiers and credentials.
