Troubleshooting

The App Is Connected but Prices Are Not Updating

A connected status does not guarantee every symbol has a new quote. Check session state, feed permissions, symbol coverage, and network availability.

What problem does this solve?

The app says Connected, but one or more prices appear unchanged.

Quick answer

Connected means a provider stream is available; it does not guarantee a new eligible trade for every symbol. Session state, feed, and symbol coverage matter.

Steps

  1. Check whether the regular session is open and whether an extended-hours feed is relevant.
  2. Inspect the affected symbol and the last visible timestamp.
  3. Check whether the selected Alpaca feed covers the venue where recent trades occurred.
  4. Compare another active symbol before concluding the entire stream has stopped.

What you should see

You can separate a quiet single-venue symbol from a general connection or entitlement failure.

If it still doesn't work

Report the symbol, time, feed, session, and app version; do not send credentials or account identifiers.
